Sobol- Arthur Martin, 69, of Newton, Massachusetts passed away September 14, 2016 at Beth Israel surrounded by close friends and family.

He was born March 7, 1947 in Boston, Massachusetts, the only son to the late Lilian and George Sobol. He graduated from Harvard University with a degree in Mathematics. He worked as a programmer at both Mass General Hospital, and Harvard School of public health.

He will always be remembered by anyone who met him, for his childlike enthusiasm, humor, constant singing, pleasant disposition and mostly for the lives he touched with his generosity. He not only opened his home, but also his heart to his caregiver Carolen Everrette, and her family adopting them as his own family. Arthur will forever be in our hearts and thoughts.

Graveside services at the Workmen’s Circle Cemetery, 776 Baker Street, West Roxbury, on Sunday, September 25, 2016, at 10:00 am. Remembrances in his memory may be made to a charity of your choice.

I went through Cabot School and Bigelow as well as Newton High with Arthur. Because of his CP he had a rough time especially in elementary school but he always had a smile on his face and a willingness to do everything he could.  He touched me and I was so pleased to see he had a nice life

It is with sadness that I heard of Arthur's passing. He always was friendly and showed great courage traversing school. He attended our reunions, remembered people after all these years, and always with a smile on his face. It's amazing all he accomplished and I'm pleased that he was deservedly well thought of and respected throughout his life.

I am sorry to hear of Arthur Sobol's passing.  He was a neighbor and an occasional study mate. Arthur was very courageous handling his disability with dignity.  I am not surprised that he was very accomplished, and I'm sure had quite an impact on many.

Sad to hear of Arthur's passing.  I knew him at Day Jr. High.  We both worked at Harvard University.  Although I never ran into him there (we were at different campuses) I knew some of his colleagues.  They spoke of him as a bright man and a good colleague.  Nice to know he was well respected in his workplace community.  Ginny
