Enid was living in Naperville, Illinois at the time of her death. She was married to Paul Silverman, whom she met at UMass. They spent a year in Malaysia in the Peace Corps and settled in Chicago. In her forties she went back to school to become a nurse while raising four children. Her field was oncology. She fought bravely to overcome her own cancers only to have them win.
