I remember Glenn as our Class President. I knew him only slightly, but he was one classy guy. Does anyone know what happened? (We're not that old -yet:))
Glenn and I were on the football team and great friends. We once did a halloween prank that I will not go into. You may not know that Glenn went on in life to be a champion black belt with his own marshall arts enterprise, but he was first and formost a gentle and kind soul. Was he not at the 40th? That was the last time I saw him. Anyone know the cause of death? He is one of several of my friends from football to die - He and Mike Fox, Peter Anderton, Mickey Burlingame, and others - fond memories of them all.
I saw Glenn in Hyannis shortly before he passed. He explained that he was having some heart/lungs problems, but he was optimistic he'd be ok. He looked pretty good that day. I was shocked to hear from Marie of his passing just a month or so later. Drew O'Malley and I went to his service. It was clear he was surrounded by loving family. He was a very accomplished guy. One of his claims to fame was that he was a 6 time national champion in his chosen martial arts world, a weapons champion. He was also the founder of a national Karate organization. I had a chance to speak at his remembrance and relayed stories about him from Franklin School to Newton High. I mentioned that he was Hannah Lippman's neighbor. Alot of folks in the audience knew her name...so, Hannah, you've been talked about for years:).
A good Glenn Hart story. A few years ago, I asked him to be my guest in a four day member guest golf tournament at the Ridge Club on the Cape. Bobby Orr was in our flight, so when Glenn and I played against Bobby and his guest, I introduced Glenn and said, he's also a Hall of Famer. Bobby looked at him, quizzically, trying to place his name and face. Finally I broke the ice and said "Karate Hall of Fame". We all had a good laugh about it. Glenn really enjoyed that intro.

Somewhere along the way at NHS Glenn and I came to appreciate each other. I really liked him. This is hard.
